Questions & Answers
We know that choosing the best child care for your special little one is one the most important decisions you'll ever make. Here's some information about our program. However, the best way to see if we are the right fit for your child and family is to come in to meet us and tour our space.
Why should I send my child to Blooming?
At Blooming, you will find a small family-like environment, with caregivers who will respect and cherish your child as much as you do. Teacher is experienced educators who have teamed up to offer enriching, loving, and reliable care. Our teacher, including our “third teacher” the space itself, encourage children to express themselves in various media and our curriculum is guided by the children’s interests and curiosity. We strive to provide children with opportunities to explore and construct their own understandings of the world around them. Through their daily experiences, they will gain as sense of self, competence and confidence in all of their abilities.
All Blooming children, are infants and young toddlers that are close in age so they will all grow up together as friends. We encourage the children to have respectful encounters with their peers as an important part of their social and emotional development.
A few things that differentiate us from other childcare programs are:
- Only 12 children on premise at any one time; Ratio of no more than 3 children to one adult
- Indoor and outdoor spaces to learn and explore.
- After 6-7 months of age, infants will be exposed to Baby Sign Language which helps babies communicate - reducing frustration, improving confidence, and developing language acquisition skills
- Homemade food will be prepared daily for infants old enough for solids
What are Blooming hours?
We are open year-round Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 6:00pm. We can be flexible with early drop-offs and late pick up, although fees will apply. We strive to be flexible, so during our in-take meeting we can work out a regular schedule that works for everyone.
What ages and number of kids do you have?
We are a licensed small day care that offers a family-like environment. During 2015 school year, we will have 3 infants (0-2 years old) and 3 toddlers (2-3.5 years old) on premise at the same time.
What is your curriculum?
We are an all infant and toddler childcare and strive to stay with the same children until they move on to preschool. We provide developmentally appropriate care, activities and environments. We believe infants and toddlers are competent, curious, resourceful learners. Within a predictable, individual rhythm of daily life (eating, sleeping, diapering, playing), children are free to explore. Teachers formulate projects and activities based on children’s interests.
